Assembly procedure for rigid and malleable metal components, e.g. for roof flashings, consists of cutting out malleable sheet and bonding with adhesive

The procedure consists of unrolling the malleable component (2), e.g. of lead, from a storage reel (3) and advancing it in stages, cutting it out to the required shape for a rigid metal structure (17a, 17b). A bead of a suitable bonding agent (13) is applied round the cut edge of the malleable layer and the metal structure is pressed down on it until it has started to set. Finally, the malleable layer is cut across to separate the bonded assemblies, which are dispatched for storage until required for use.
