A bar for retaining refractory tiles in a rotary cement kiln feeder unit comprises a metal sole (6), two arms (7) with at least one bolt connecting the end of one arm to an adjacent one, and a composite metal/ceramic supporting beam (9) with a ceramic insert (11) forming its projecting end. The beam is fixed to the metal sole, and its part in contact with hot gases from the furnace is able to withstand temperatures of over 1000[deg]C continuously. The ceramic insert of the beam comprises a body (12) and a claw (13) designed to retain refractory tiles.
