The method involves fabricating a test piece having a traction of specific width, and elongating the test piece so as to place metal e.g. steel, in a state representative of metal state of a pipe after fabrication. A cut having a specific depth is formed, and a tensile test is performed so as to attain a propagation of rupture higher than ten meters per second. The test is interpreted for determining resistance of pipe against cracking.
