The receiver has a low-noise amplifier (4) and a band-pass filter (6) receiving electromagnetic signals from an antenna (2). The amplifier and filter apply a processing without changing frequency at the signals. A sampler (8) samples the signals processed by the amplifier and filter at a sampling frequency (fe) which is an integer multiple of a pulse repetition frequency (fprp) and lesser than one-fifth of an upper limit (fmax) of a frequency band. The sampled signals are regrouped into a preset number of segments. An independent claim is also included for a method for receiving electromagnetic signals transmitted in a frequency band.
