At least one expired decryption key (Sn) for decrypting asymmetrically encrypted data is recovered in a terminal (T) after a generation of a cryptographic key / encryption key / decryption key key stored in a cryptographic medium, such as a card chip (CP). The expired decryption key is stored in a database (BL) accessible to a user of the terminal, said key being previously encrypted according to the new encryption key generated. In the terminal connected to the cryptographic support, the encrypted out-of-date encryption key is decrypted according to the decryption key stored in the cryptographic medium in order to decrypt the encrypted data according to the deciphered decryption key thus decrypted.
