The engine has a fresh air intake line (20) and a burnt gas exhaust line (30) which opens in cylinders (12) of a combustion chamber (11). A delivery air blow line (22) includes an auxiliary compressor (23) and an electric motor (24), and an electromagnetic control valve (27) which regulates the rate of the delivery air. The blow line opens directly or indirectly in the cylinders, upstream the connection of the cylinders with the exhaust line for injecting compressed delivery air in the cylinders.
