The method involves storing and heating elements of new long rails at liberation temperature by storage wagons (WS-1-WS-n), and controlling extension of the new long rails at the temperature after stabilization of the new long rails at the temperature. Old long rails on a cross beam are released and are removed. The new long rails are positioned on the cross beam at the temperature, and the new long rails are riveted at the temperature. The new long rails are realized without discontinuity by welding the elements at the temperature, and the old long rails are stored. An independent claim is also included for an apparatus for renewing a continuous railway track.
