APPARATUS FOR RESEARCH ON ANIMAL BEHAVIOR SCIENCE

PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for research on animal behavior science capable of analyzing effects of light imparted to the behavior of small animals or to biological rhythm, carrying out behavioral pharmacology research necessary to the development of central nervous system drugs and further, preparing model of animals that develop depression and the like by controlling light. PSOLUTION: An apparatus 1 for the research on the animal behavior science includes a space 10, capable of housing a rearing cage 13 for rearing small animals in the inside, an illumination part 4 for illuminating the rearing cage 13 and a sensor 14 for detecting the behavior of the small animals that are reared in the rearing cage 13. The illumination part 4 is mounted with light-emitting diodes as light source and is equipped with an illuminance control part 23 so that the illuminance of the light-emitting diodes can be made adjustable.
