PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst exhibiting sufficient performances on all of catalyst performances such as tacticity and catalyst activity, and to provide an α-olefin polymer production method using the catalyst component.;SOLUTION: A solid catalyst component (A) for α-olefin polymerization is provided by polymerization treatment of a solid component (A1) containing titanium, magnesium and a halogen as essential components with a ≥2C branched chain olefin in the presence of an organoaluminum compound and contact treatment of an alkenyl-containing silane compound (A2), an organosilicon compound (A3) and an organoaluminum compound (A4) to the obtained solid component (A1').
