PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a competition situation measuring method in a tail of a shield machine and a device therefor which can provide in real time the knowledge of a competition situation between a tail seal and lining work which is squeeezed in the tail seal.;SOLUTION: A plurality of pressure sensors 12 are circumferentially provided at the tail-seal attaching part of the tail of the shield machine at predetermined intervals.
