PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling the damages of paddy rice by paddy rice sap-sucking stinkbugs, by which the damages of the paddy rice by the paddy rice sap-sucking stinkbugs can stably be controlled without relating to a weather condition comprising the presence or absence of rainfall.;SOLUTION: This method for controlling the damages of paddy rice by the paddy rice sap-sucking stinkbugs is characterized by having a process for directly once applying a rainfall-resistant sustained release agrochemical formulation to the water surface of rice paddy during a period after the transplantation of paddy rice and before the heading of the paddy rice. The rainfall-resistant sustained release agrochemical formulation is prepared by film-coating a core material comprising a permeably migrational insecticidal neonicotinoid compound as an active ingredient and a solid carrier with a thermosetting or thermoplastic polymer produced by polymerizing or polycondensing a low molecular compound at a coating rate (the rate of the weight of the coating material to the weight of the core material) of 1 to 20%.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
