PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for automatically and quantitatively evaluating interstitial pneumonia.;SOLUTION: This apparatus for automatically and quantitatively evaluating the interstitial pneumonia includes a means for extracting images expressing the lungs from a CT image, a means for classifying the images expressing the lungs into a voxel set having normal CT values and a voxel set having abnormal CT values by binarizing the images expressing the lungs, a means for calculating a distance between the pulmonary hilum section and a lowest part of the lobus inferior pulmonis, a means for calculating a ratio of voxels having the abnormal values existing in a range surrounded with mutually adjoining two concentric spheres corresponding to respective distances relative to the respective distances from the pulmonary hilum, and a means for quantitatively evaluating the interstitial pneumonia based on the calculated ratio.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
