PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phosphor material having a broad emitted light spectrum in blue color range (a peak wavelength is 400 to 500 nm), also having a wide and flat exciting belt in a near ultraviolet and an ultraviolet range, and excellent in light-emitting efficiency, light-emitting intensity and brightness.;SOLUTION: This phosphor material is characterized by being expressed by general formula: MmAaBbOoNn: Z [wherein, M is 1 kind of an element having a II valent valence; A is 1 kind of an element having a III valent valence; B is 1 kind of an element having a IV valent valence; O is oxygen; N is nitrogen; Z is 1 kind of an activator; (m)0; (a)0; (b)0; (o)0; and (n)0] and having 10% changing rate of the ratio of the B element atoms based on the total number of atoms and/or 40% changing rate of the ratio of the oxygen atoms based on the total number of atoms within a range from the surface of the particles to 2,000 nm depth.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
