PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a journal which has fastening strength at low costs and can shorten a processing time at high precision.;SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of a journal forms the journal by integrating a shaft member 4 having a cylindrical section 4b at one end and a disk-shaped flange member 2 having a diameter larger than the thickness of the shaft member 4. The manufacturing method of a journal comprises a flange member setting process for keeping one face of the disk-shaped flange member 2 in contact with the cylindrical section 4b so as to make it coaxial with one end of the shaft member 4, and a punching process in sequence for deforming the cylindrical section 4b into a barrel-shape in the disk-shaped flange member 2 while press-fitting the cylindrical section 4b into the disk-shaped flange member 2 by punching a punch 8 having a convex section 9 on a punching surface from the other surface of the disk-shaped flange member 2.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
