PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a communication band required for positioning a target in between a detection apparatus and a positioning apparatus.;SOLUTION: A standard signal transmitting apparatus 120 transmits a transmission wave 30 toward the target 10. Each detection apparatus 100 receives a reflected wave 32 caused by the reflection of the transmission wave 30 off the target 10. Each detection apparatus 100 calculates the time from the transmission of the transmission wave 30 by the standard signal transmitting apparatus 120 to the reception of the reflected wave 32 by the detection apparatus 100 on the basis of the received reflected wave 32 and transmits only the calculated time as characteristic information to a positioning apparatus 140. The positioning apparatus 140 calculates the distance from the standard signal transmitting apparatus 120 to each detection apparatus 100 through the target 10 on the basis of each characteristic information received from each detection apparatus 100 and measures the position of the target 10 on the basis of the calculated distance and the coordinates of the standard signal transmitting apparatus 120 and the coordinates of each detection apparatus 100.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
