PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method for controlling and operating an intelligent base unit for a hand-held medical device. PSOLUTION: The device and the method for controlling and operating a base unit for a hand-held medical device are provided. In one embodiment, the base unit is capable of making communication with the hand-held medical device. The base unit is composed to be equipped with electric connection to a power source for charging the battery of the hand-held medical device. The base unit is composed to execute update concerning action of the base unit. The update is started by the base unit when receiving a data stream including information indicating that the data stream includes update from the hand-held medical device.
