PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a document disposal system which can perform smooth operation even when generation and disposal of documents are performed by other companies etc., respectively.;SOLUTION: In a document disposal system provided with a document management device 10, an image reading device 20, and a document disposal device 30, the document management device 10 is provided with an information management means 11 which memorizes and manages discrimination information of documents in association with status information of the documents; the propriety determination means 12 which determines the propriety of disposal of the documents based on the status information when the system receives inquiry from the document disposal device 30; the image reading device 20 is provided with a request notice means 22 which transmits discrimination information of the disposal requested document to the document management device 10 and updates status information of the document; the document disposal device 30 having a disposal confirmation means 32 which inquires the propriety of disposal about the disposal object document to the document management device 10; and a disposal processing means 33 which performs document disposal processing if the reply result to the inquiry approves the disposal.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
