PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical apparatus position detection system capable of highly precisely detecting the direction of a medical apparatus; and a position detection method of a medical apparatus guide system.;SOLUTION: This medical apparatus position detection system is provided with: the medical apparatus 3 to be introduced in a subject; a magnetic field response section disposed in the medical apparatus 3, responding to a magnetic field by having a magnetization direction and guiding the medical apparatus 3; a magnetic field generation section 45 forming a magnetic field in the subject; a direction detecting magnetic field control section 49 generating the direction detecting magnetic field for detecting the direction of the medical apparatus 3 from the magnetic field generation section; a response detection section for detecting a response of the magnetic field response section by the direction detecting magnetic field; and a direction calculation section 35 calculating the direction of the medical apparatus 3 based on the detection result of the direction response detection section of the direction detecting magnetic field.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
