PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light-emitting substance having excellent durability, high light-emitting intensity, high color rendering properties or a wide color reproduction range.;SOLUTION: The light-emitting substance has (a) a metal compound on the surface, contains (b) a fluorescent complex and has ≥1.75 g/ml true density. (a) The metal compound is preferably formed of a silicon compound, especially an alkoxysilane and/or a hydrolyzate of the alkoxysilane. The content of (b) the fluorescent complex is preferably ≥1 to ≤50 wt.% based on the whole light-emitting substance. The light-emitting substance is produced through steps (I) to (III). (I) hydrolyzing (a) the metal compound in the presence of a catalyst and water, (II) mixing the hydrolyzate of the metal compound produced in the step (I) with (b) the fluorescent complex and (III) heating the resultant mixture at ≥50°C and ≤200°C atmospheric temperature.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
