PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To establish an industrially practicable crystallization method for manufacturing optically active N-tert-butylcarbamoyl-L-tert-leucine which is important as a raw material of pharmaceuticals such as an antivirus agent or the like.;SOLUTION: An organic solvent solution containing optically active N-tert-butylcarbamoyl-L-tert-leucine is distilled in the co-presence of water and then a crystal of the compound is separated from the thus-obtained mixed solution having replaced the organic solvent by water. This method permits the manufacture in a high yield of the crystal of the optically active N-tert-butylcarbamoyl-L-tert-leucine excellent in all of chemical purity, optical purity and crystal properties.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
