PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a culture system capable of culturing an aerobically chemically independent nutritive bacterium in an extremely high proliferation rate to a high concentration (in the case of a ferrooxidans bacterium, 1×10¹⁰cells/ mL). ;SOLUTION: This apparatus 1 is used for culturing aerobically chemically independent nutritive bacterium [ferrooxidans bacterium such as (thiobacillus ferrooxidans)] in a medium 13 containing an electron donor, comprises an electrolytic bath 2 for reducing the oxidized electron donor to an original electron donor to be utilized by the bacterium, an aerating 3 for supplying a sufficient amount of oxygen to proliferate the bacterium, communicating routes (a), (b) and (c) capable of circulating a medium 13 between both the baths.
