PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piece transfer device for sucking flat packaging bags (pieces) formed by cutting original fabrics without changing directions and for widening spaces therebetween.;SOLUTION: The piece transfer device comprises a drum 10, vacuum pads 20, plate cams 30, a slider 40, and a suction cup 50. The drum 10 has a number of vent holes 12 formed at equal spaces in communication with the peripheral face and both side faces, and is rotated in the peripheral direction. The vacuum pads 20 are joined to both side faces of the drum 10 with no rotation, and have suction portions 21 for sucking air from the vent holes 12 and exhaust portions 22 for exhausting air into the vent holes 12. The plate cams 30 are arranged outside both vacuum pads 20, and have cam grooves 31 formed on the outer peripheral face. The slider 40 for blocking the vent holes 12 exposed to the peripheral face of the drum 10 is guided along the cam grooves 31 and reciprocatingly moved on the peripheral face of the drum 10 in the axial direction.
