PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve correction of a conveying amount of a medium under conditions of few limitations.;SOLUTION: There is provided a conveying amount correcting device which is formed of a head, a conveying mechanism, a memory, and a controller. The conveying mechanism conveys the medium to the head in a conveying direction, according to a target conveying amount. The memory stores therein a plurality of correction values which are for use in correcting the target conveying amount when the medium, in which a predetermined combination is set in terms of a medium type and a medium size, is conveyed, and set corresponding to relative locations between the head and the medium. The controller controls the conveying mechanism to convey the medium when the medium, in which the predetermined combination is set, is conveyed, while correcting the target conveying amount by using the correction value corresponding to the relative location for the conveyance. On the other hand when the medium, in which a combination other than the predetermined combination is set, is conveyed, the controller controls the conveying mechanism to convey the medium while correcting the target conveying amount by using a constant correction value.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
