PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a combustion control method to be applied to a combustion chamber of a waste melting furnace substantially free from a delay in the combustion air control, whereby the oxygen concentration in the combustion chamber can be measured on the real time basis.;SOLUTION: The combustion control method in the combustion chamber 1 of the waste melting furnace to put the waste into a melting process in which the exhaust gas generated in the melting furnace is combusted while the air for combustion is supplied, is structured so that the oxygen concentration in the gas in the combustion chamber is detected by a laser type gas analyzer installed in the combustion chamber 1, and the amount of combustion air is controlled so that the detected oxygen concentration lies within the specified range.
