The wheel (15) of the bicycle has a rim (16), spokes (18) and a nave (23). On the spokes is the lighting device (19) and on the wheel nave is an energy-production device. This dynamo, formed by a permanent magnet and a coil, has these two constituents rotating relatively to each other. The dynamo has two connecting points, to enable it to serve as feed for the lighting. In one version, two spokes are connected to t he connecting points. Via the spokes the electrical current reaches the lighting. A cylindrical casing (14) is incorporated, fixed to the spokes (9) of the wheel by wings (17). To secure fixture, individual clamps (5) are provided on one or two insides of the wings. Since the distance between the spokes is variable, place can always be found, which is equal to the distance between the engagement parts of the housing (14). In the wing is an aperture (7), with the possibility of the spokes being additionally clamped by screws. In the housing is a light source, which can be a light emitting diode mounted on a printed circuit (18) incorporating a light sensor (2) and a movement sensor (3), which form part of an electrical switching arrangement.
