The present invention relates the production strains cyanobacterium Nostoc sp. Lukešová 27/97, ​​the process of isolation of new biologically active substances from this strain and its own bioaktivnílátka possessing inhibitory activity against the enzyme acetylcholinesterase. The active material was further chromatographed sequentially nasloupci polyamide, silica gel and using a semi-preparative reverse phase HPLC C.sub.18.n .. This yields an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor on the structural formula, 2,2'-bis [4,5-bis (4- hydroxybenzyl) -2- (4-hydroxyphenyl) cyclopent-4-ene-1,3-dione] with purity higher than 98%.
