To improve the regularity of the drafted strand, the strands are doubled. There is some doubling effect during drafting also which helps in reducing the output strand irregularity. . The independent and random drafting of a number of strips in the lateral direction brings in doubling effect which may be called as internal doubling. In this present invention an attempt has been made to improve this number of internal doubling by introducing the point fluted bottom roller in the place of the helical fluted bottom roller used presently, keeping the other drafting conditions same as that of the existing system. If the point fluted bottom roller is used instead of the helical fluted bottom roller, it will improve the number of internal doubling during the drafting process and the spun yarn quality.
