The present disclosure describes an adhesive for the junction of polyolefin, polystyrene and polyurethane surfaces based on ethylene vinyl and acrylic polymer aqueous emulsions, containing tackifying resins and further additives such as chloroprene. The compounds combination allows a high instantaneous adhesion to be obtained (up to 112 grams per centimetre), as well as a high adhesion acquired over time (up to 446 grams per centimetre). The adhesive is maintained stable in an emulsion form at a temperature of from about 0°C to about 110°C, having a pH of from about 6.0 to about 8.0. Due to the composition, the adhesive may be used with surface energies under 15 dynes per centimetre and located onto a single surface over which the adhesion is to be promoted. The use of a tackifying resin allows an adhesion of up to 40 oz to be developed in 15 minutes, at a temperature of from about 20°C to about 35°C. The inventive adhesive may be located onto one of the surfaces to be attached using an engraving roller system or a commercial pressure or air spraying system.
