A method for selecting a bee family for quality wintering includes determining the force of bee families taking into account the date of birth and the state of metabolism according to the percentage of water content in the organism of bees. The content of phospholipids in pectoral muscles is additionally determined in the bees, which are being prepared to wintering, and bee families with a force of 1.6-2.2 kg born at the end of Augustat the beginning of September are selected for quality wintering. It is assumed that the water content in the organism of the bees selected for quality wintering of bee families is to be within the range of 67.1-68.1%, and the total content of the phospholipids in the pectoral muscles within the range of 26-32%.
