The invention relates to metallurgy. A device for cutting of slag at tapping of steel from converter comprises a vertical column, installed with the possibility of turning in bottom and top immovable supports, kinematically connected with an arm, which is equipped with mechanism of its turning in a horizontal plane relative to console together with a hollow bar, which interconnected back end with the arm, with placed on its front end cut of element, fixed by spring-return catch. In addition the device comprises a transverse shaft, which is installed in bearing supports, placed on the console, and equipped with two longitudinal guides, the back end of the hollow bar is fixed on carriage with rollers, installed with possibility of moving on guides, mechanism of turning of arm is made as conic gear pair with reduction ratio, equal to 1, interconnected with the transverse shaft installed with an the possibility on the back end of longitudinal shaft installed on the console, on which front end the conic tooth gear is rigidly fixed, interconnected with conic gear pinion rigidly connected with the top immovable support, at that the relation of quantity tine of conic pinion at quantity tine conic tooth gear is equal to 2:1. The invention provides increasing of efficiency and reliability of cutting of slag from the converter.
