The method according to the invention contains steps wherein the waste is crushed to pieces of 8mm or smaller size, in a way that the empties are torn open and the organic residues therein are discharged; the non degradable waste is separated and the organic waste cleared from solid components is processed. In the crushing and sorting unit according to the invention the crushing screws (11) are screws of the same pitch direction and without central shaft, provided with short drive shafts (112) on their driven end, wherein the rotational axis of the discharging screw (151) and the plane determined by the rotational axes of the two crushing screws (11) define an acute angle. The heat treatment/mixing according to the invention contains a heat treatment tank, a mixing tank and a mixer unit, wherein the heat treatment tank (31) is arranged at the upper part of the mixing tank (32) coaxially surrounding the mixing tank (32); and the heat treatment tank (31) and the mixing tank (32) are interconnected by a quick discharge assembly.
