FIELD: biotechnology, microbiology. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to microbiological synthesis of lycopin. The strain Blakeslea trispora VKPM F-822 in pair with different (+)-strains of Blakeslea trispora is able to synthesize lycopin. Method for synthesis of lycopin based on culturing the pair (-)- and (+)-strains of Blakeslea trispora involves the use of the strain Blakeslea trispora VKPM F-822 as the (-)-strain and synthesis is carried out using the specially developed nutrient medium of the following composition, %: maltose syrup, 8.0-14.0; maize extract, 4.0-8.0; dried baking yeast, 0.03-0.07; KH2PO4, 0.04-0.06; NaCl, 0.1-0.5; MnSO47H2O, 0.005-0.015; thiamine 0.0002; vegetable oil, 3.0-6.0; tap water, 84.8-71.4; pH value before sterilization, 7.5-8.4. The proposed (-)-strain in combination with the proposed method provides high level of synthesis of lycopin up to 1.7 g/l of medium and allows carrying out the process without addition of special chemical compound stimulating the formation of lycopin to cultural medium.
