The invention relates to a test device (1)for testing a transponder (2) which may be introduced into a test region of a production device, comprising: a first transmitter device (4) for emitting a radio signal, to operate the transponder (2) for testing in the test region, a second transmitter device (5) to provide a magnetic alternating field, to operate the transponder (2) by inductive magnetic coupling, the first and second transmitter device (4, 5) being opposedly arranged in relation to the test region (TB), a first shielding device (8), reducing the strength of the radio signal in a shielded region (AB) different from the test region (TB) at least sufficiently that a transponder (2) arranged therein can not be operated and a second shielding device (10), which weakens the magnetic alternating field in the shielded region(AB) such that a transponder (2) arranged therein can not be operated.
