The invention relates to a DNA analysis -based method for the identification of different species of the genus Alectoris and the hybrids thereof. Said analysis s performed (i) using two polymorphisms which are located at position 234 of the mitochondrial cytochrome b gene and at position - 526 of intron 1 of the rhodopsin gene respectively and (ii) studying of RAPD-type patterns. In addition, the invention also relates to a diagnostic kit which is used to perform said analysis, together with the necessary primers or initiators.
