The invention relates to a metal-reinforced plastic composite pipe, a device for producing the same, and a method for production comprising the following steps: a) providing a plastic pipe (10); b) feeding a metal strip (11) to the vicinity of the outer circumference of the plastic pipe (10); c) deforming the metal strip (11) such that it surrounds the plastic pipe (10) in some regions in a C shape, spaced from the outer circumference thereof; d) applying a first adhesive layer (12) onto the outer circumference of the plastic pipe (10); e) deforming the metal strip (11') having a C-shaped cross-section into a metal pipe (14) surrounding the plastic pipe (10), the longitudinal edges (13, 15) of the metal pipe (14) overlapping each other; f) applying a second adhesive layer (16) onto the outer circumference of the metal pipe (14); g) compressing the metal pipe (14) in the radial direction in order to press the inner circumference of the metal pipe (14) onto the outer circumference of the plastic pipe (10) provided with the first adhesive layer (12); h) extruding a plastic casing (18) on the outer circumference of the metal pipe (14) provided with the second adhesive layer (16).
