A carrier (13) stretches lengthwise through a passage (14) in a cutting device so as to move a strand of plastically reshapable material like clay lengthwise through the passage. A longitudinal driving mechanism (5) slides a longitudinal guiding slider (4) forwards and backwards on a longitudinal guide device (3). A first transverse guide device (7) fits on the longitudinal guiding slider. A first retaining device (8) holds a cutting wire (9) for cutting a strand of clay (12) crosswise to the passage.
