An electronic system that enables a person with a visual impairment to acquire information regarding a container for refuse collection so that said disabled person can identify it in order to reach it easily and use it correctly, or else to avoid it in the case where said container constitutes an obstacle along his or her path.In particular, said electronic system is constituted by:- a device designed to be installed on the container and preferably comprising: a memory in which said information is stored; at least one transmitter of a known type that is able to supply said information; and autonomous means of supply for said transmitter; and- a mobile terminal, with which the person affected by visual impairment is provided, said mobile terminal comprising a receiver of a known type, designed to receive the information coming from said transmitter, and means for the sound diffusion of said information to enable him or her to listen to it conveniently.
