METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PROVIDING DYNAMIC WALL PAPER SERVICE BASED CONTENTS

A method and a system for providing a contents based dynamic background screen service are provided to change or upgrade the background screen freely, to make a contents server easily implement wanted background screen without an application requiring many resources by providing only contents, and to enable a user to access detailed information or contents immediately and easily. A system for providing a contents based dynamic background screen service includes a terminal(110), a service gateway(120), a contents server(130), a channel web server(140) and an information server(150). The terminal requests the service gateway to provide channel information which will be displayed on the background screen wherein the channel information is automatically requested when a pop-up is activated or cyclically. The service gateway processes certification of the contents server, analyzes an image file or an image map file received from the contents server, and checks effectiveness. The service gateway converts the received image file into image transferable to the terminal, packages the converted image, and transmits detailed information for each item, a user list and a setup user list to the terminal. The contents server registers a URL previously together with corresponding channel servers, receives information on corresponding channels from the corresponding channel servers, transmits the information on the corresponding channel to the service gateway, and exposes or facilitates access to the contents which make profit via a provided channel. The channel web server receives latest information on the channels by being cyclically linked to the information server, cyclically makes image for the latest information, generates a predefined image map file, and transmits the generated image and image map file to the service gateway. The information server manages information on channels like a mail, a stock, weather, news and others and transmits the information on the corresponding channel at the request of the channel web server.
