A spacer for a tensile test of a steel strand for prestressed concrete is provided to increase in reliability of measured data and to reduce time and cost for the tensile test by efficiently preventing damage to a holder of the steel strand. A spacer for a tensile test of a steel strand(1) for prestressed concrete includes an insertion material(10). The insertion material has a metal plate and a friction resistive layer. The metal plate, made of Al, Al alloy, Cu, or Cu alloy, is transformable by load for increasing a contact area, preventing unwinding of the steel strand, and increasing a friction force. The friction resistive layer is formed on a side of the metal plate to increase the friction force and prevent a holder of the steel plate from sliding on the metal plate.
