GROUP COMMUNICATION SYSTEM AND METHOD IN A MOBILE AD-HOC NETWORK

A group communication system in a MANET(Mobile Ad-hoc Network) and a method thereof are provided to reduce broadcast problems which can be generated in the case of performing transmission through a MANET, reduce the bandwidth and calculation required for nodes of the MANET, and obtain the reliability peculiar to a unicasting protocol by providing group communication in the MANET which maintains a MANET bandwidth. A processor collects routes from a source node to one or more group member nodes(212). The processor caches the collected route information(214). Then the processor merges the middle link of a host node having a single branch to at least one group member node into the collected routes(216).
