A safety indication lamp for a pedestrian crossing and a power supply apparatus and method therefor are provided to interrupt a power applied to the lamp when a body of the lamp is damaged by external pressure such as collision of a vehicle. A booster(13) receives a power supplied to a safety indication lamp(16), and boosts the power of a reduced voltage by a predetermined voltage. A leakage breaker(14) prevents electric leakage of the power supplied via the booster. A ballast(15) provides the lamp with the boosted power stably. A power connector(20) is connected to an input stage of the booster so as to interrupt the supplied power when external pressure is applied. The power connection is a pixel stage which is easily attached to or detached from the input stage.
