A method for controlling access to a shared memory in a dual port memory system and a recording medium storing the same are provided to guarantee operation synchronized with respective tasks under a multi-tasking environment without additional hardware in the dual port memory system applicable to a mobile terminal equipped with two processors and a dual port memory. A counter for counting at least one task accessing a shared memory area is initialized(301). At least one task accesses the shared memory area(303). A counting value of the counter is increased whenever the task accessing the shared memory area is determined based on use of a predetermined function of an API(Application Program Interface)(305). Each task terminates access to the shared memory area(307). The counting value of the counter is decreased whenever the task terminating the access to the shared memory area occurs(309). Access protection to the shared memory area is released when the counting value gets to a predetermined value(313).
