A method of estimating ultimate strength of cracked structure is provided to estimate ultimate tensile strength and compressive strength of the cracked structure by the length of the cracks and a geometrical element of a stiffened panel which are able to be measured simply in the field. A structure is composed by a steel sheet and a stiffened panel(20). The stiffened panel is welded to the one surface of the steel sheet separated with a uniform gap. The ultimate strength of the structure is estimated, if a perpendicularity fatigue crack is generated. The perpendicular fatigue crack lengths(c1,c2) of the steel sheet and the stiffened panel is measured in the field. The ultimate strength of the structure is calculated by using the perpendicular fatigue crack lengths, a thickness of the steel sheet(t1), a thickness of the stiffened panel(t2), a vertical height(h) and mutual interval(b) of the stiffened panels.
