PURPOSE: A method of assigning dynamic slots for a real-time VBR(Variable Bit Rate) service in a wireless ATM is provided to firstly assign an upward data slot to a terminal having the shortest residual life for slots requested by terminals, thereby maintaining lower cell loss and securing transmission delay. CONSTITUTION: A base station scheduler arrays slot request information in ascending power of residual life(S100), calculates the number of total slots and the number of upward data slots, and stores the calculated slots(S110), and compares the total slots with the upward data slots(S120). If the total slots are smaller than the upward data slots, the scheduler assigns data slots as many as the requested slots(S130). If the total slots are larger, the scheduler calculates the number of total slots to store the slots(S140), and compares the number of total slots having the lowest residual life with the upward data slots(S150). If the requested slots are larger, the scheduler fairly distributes the slots(S190).
