The module (200) has an echo signaling-unit providing an echo signal. A reference pulse-generation unit generates a reference pulse, where the reference pulse and the echo signal are separated from each other. A sampling mixer (207) of the echo signaling unit converts a received signal into the echo signal. A taper (202) uncouples a reference signal from a transmission circuit (210). A sampling-mixer (206) of the generation unit converts the uncoupled reference signal into the reference pulse. Rectifiers are arranged before the sampling mixer of the reference unit. An independent claim is also included for a method for the independent reference pulse generation for a filling level measuring device.
