The device has a vehicle with a lifting platform (15) and driven between storing racks. A transfer unit (16) delivers a container from the lifting platform to rack compartments and vice versa. A lifting device (17) has a lift higher than a maximum height of the container, where the rack compartments of the storing racks are deep in nature. The lifting device has individual controllable lifting units (H1, H2, H3, H4), whose masses are coordinated with a base grid of the container. The platform has a transverse conveyor (18) that moves non-lifted containers from one lifting unit to another unit.
