The continuously variable transmission involves introducing a torque by an input shaft and transmission to another shaft. A rotary disk (10) provides a non-positive connection between a force-transmitting endless element and one of the shafts. The force-transmitting endless element is wrapped around the force-transmitting endless element. The rotary disk has a radius (20), which is functionally dependent on a rotational angle and a certain medium radius. An independent claim is also included for a rotary disk for providing a connection between a force-transmitting endless element and a shaft.
