Wheel's trapping brake controlling method for rail vehicle, involves authorizing brake function by sliding protection device if adhesion between wheel and rail is increased by brake, where additional braking force is transferred to rail
The method involves controlling slip between a wheel (1) and a rail (2) over an electronic sliding protection device (7). A function of a trapping brake (3) is only then authorized by the electronic sliding protection device if the adhesion between the wheel and the rail is increased by the brake. The additional braking force that is applied by the brake is transferred to the rail. The initial braking force level is stored for monitoring of the effect of the brake by the sliding protection device. An independent claim is also included for a device for controlling a trapping brake for a wheel of a rail vehicle.
