In the case of a pattern recognition methods for the early detection of infrared are effective sound events the periodogram of temporally high-resolution, by means of ground measuring instruments standardized and continuously measured temperature fluctuations in the analyzed airglow. A determined from the periodograms, so-called spectral with a fingerprint is in a look - up - table stored, so-called spectral fingerprint of periodograms from model-based infrared compared sound propagation simulations. In the case of a significant degree of similarity between the structures of the periodogram of the time series of the measured and the simulated temperature fluctuations, a backward calculation of the infrared sound propagation in the upper meso sphere to the ground with the aid of an infrared input sound propagation model (ray - tracing) is carried out.
