The catheter (1) has a port housing (3) with a port chamber open on at least one side and at least one septum (4) that can be perforated by cannulas, whereby the open side of the port chamber is connected to the septum and the septum is held on the port housing. It has at least one supporting element (7) for the septum mounted on the port housing. The septum is supported on the support element, which is stiffer than the septum and has at least one central supporting point for supporting the septum above a central region of the port chamber (2).
